Galenic Health GSE with ginger helps relieve digestive disorders with the help of ginger and grapefruit seed extract.

Based on the work of Florida's Gainsville University, Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE) is one of the most antibiotic substances in natural products. Research has shown since the sixties that GSE acts as a natural antibiotic against most food pathogens: E. coli, salmonella, listeria, etc.

Some studies also demonstrate its effect against Candida albicans, a fungus found in the intestinal flora. The good news for people with SIBO (Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth) is that GSE has a positive effect at this level.

Indeed, when there is overproduction of bacteria in the small intestine, they communicate with each other and create what is called a Biofilm, to protect themselves from natural defenses or antibiotic treatments. GSE inhibits this communication between bacteria and helps to defeat the Biofilm and expose pathogenic bacteria to the body's natural defenses and its own antibiotic molecules1.

The scientific literature also demonstrates that ginger decreases several inflammatory mediators (COX-2, NF-kB-p65, etc.). So the logic of this formula is to attack pathogens while reducing inflammation.

Caution

Note, however, that there is a contraindication to taking this product for people taking medications for heart problems, high blood pressure and some other health problems. Check with a competent professional before using.
