The tampico comes from the leaves of an agave (the Lechuguilla) which grows mainly in Mexico. The fleshy leaves of the agave are cut and beaten with sticks or special machines to extract the fibers. The fibers are then dried in the sun and selected according to their thickness and length. Thanks to its exceptional hygroscopic characteristics, biodegradability and resistance to heat, tampico is particularly suitable for the manufacture of many types of brushes for domestic or industrial use.
